Why The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update Still Hasn’t Released Yet

Currently, CD Projekt Red has yet to give an exact date for the next-gen upgrade to The Witcher 3.

On October 20, 2021, CD Projekt Red tweeted a Production Update for gamers to inform them that the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 would be pushed back to the second quarter of 2022. In an article by Kotakuthey reported on Halk’s announcement that his creation of The Witcher 3 HD reworked project can be officially implemented in the new version. CD Projekt Red has not yet confirmed this collaboration, but Witcher 3 has undergone many changes since launch, and given that Halk has already made major improvements to the base game’s graphics, a prolific modder officially working with the devs could make for the best overall upgrade. Whether the collaboration takes place or not, players can expect to enjoy The Witcher 3 at 60 FPS and 4K resolution for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in Q2 2022.
