Voltage High Society will be released at the end of July

|

Indie developer and publisher Platonic Partnership has revealed it has a firm release date for its Metroidvania game. High Society Tension. The game stayed in Early Access for a minute as you get a taste of the cyberpunk, body-horror title that’s been layered with a gritty retro aesthetic and a soundtrack that will have you paranoid as hell. With mechanics that take on retro punch titles that were influenced by films such as Tetsuo the iron man and Escape from New York. It’s a weird but interesting game, and if you like freaky games that don’t make much sense on the surface but get deeper as you go, this might be for you. You can read more about it below as it will be fully released on July 27, 2022.

In High Society Tension, fight and explore a decaying city ruled by cybernetic monsters, find upgrades and weapons to unlock new areas. In this cyberpunk-body-Metroidvania horror, you are a nameless prisoner thrown into an island ruled by cybernetic monsters. Fight your way through the horrors, earn new weapons and abilities, and search for a way out. Inspired by Japanese cyberpunk and Escape from New York, featuring gritty retro graphics with modern touches. In true Metroidvania style, the tools you acquire will allow you to access new areas, new ways to fight enemies, and solve puzzles.

Fast and unique combat. As you progress through the levels, you’ll constantly come across new monster designs to keep you on your toes. And, instead of having guns, you’ll do more than just aim and shoot things. Combining both modern and old technology, black and white visuals and vibrant colors, you’ll always have surprises to come. One area can be dark and gritty with menacing monsters, the other a parade of color with fast-paced arcade combat.
