Valkyrae slams expedition and explains how it “affects friendships”

Popular streamer and co-owner of 100 Thieves, Valkyrae, recently expressed her frustration with the continuous shipping that happens every time she streams with male friends.

The streaming star first expressed her concerns via a tweet on her other Twitter account.

“Please stop texting me with friends,” the streamer said. “It’s really uncomfortable and scary. Literally EVERY friend I interact with comes up with one or more random anonymous accounts not only making the worst/craziest assumptions, but they get mad when I don’t interact with them. their “favorite. Madness.”

Then, during her live stream on May 8, Valkyrae explained her frustration with the situation and how it affected her further.

“It really affects me to the point where it affects friendships,” she said. “Like, I don’t, I avoided, like… I mean, I haven’t really affected friendships, like, I’m still friends with all my male friends, but I’m hesitant to play GTA because of this, I hesitate to go out with certain people.

Since she’s a variety streamer, Valkyrae regularly goes through phases where she’s really ready to play different games. One of these phases is role-playing on the popular NoPixel GTA server. But lately, the streamer has taken a step back and mostly played other games.

Valkyrae revealed that one of the main reasons she avoids GTA the role play is because of all the expeditions in the GTA community. While most shipments surround the characters that streamers create and play as on the server, sometimes the line between character and creator is blurred by community members, who transform it by shipping the actual creators behind the characters.

“It’s different when it’s, like the characters, but like, people ship IRL, like, in person, and it’s really scary,” the streaming star said. “It’s like, it’s scary. It’s scary what some people say.”

A fan asked who the streamer was shipped with, to which she replied, “almost all single men and I follow or interact with.”

Valkyrae then went on to reveal that even when she’s just watching her friend’s streams offline, this problem persists. People search the list of people watching the stream and if they see her on the list and the streamer is male, they make assumptions.

“I don’t think it’s wrong for me to look at anyone, regardless of gender,” Valkyrae said. “I don’t know. It doesn’t mean… If I look at someone who’s a guy, it doesn’t mean I fuck them. It’s really weird.

“Honestly, at the end of the day, I think being…I think that’s the worst part of that kind of lifestyle. And it’s exhausting, but there’s so much more to be grateful for and I’m so grateful for this lifetime.
