Top 10 Ways to Recruit Followers in the Worship of the Lamb

Complete follower quests

Follower quests can seem tedious to complete in Cult of the Lamb, but many of these quests can net you valuable rewards, including (but not limited to) extra Followers! When asked, these quest followers will inform you that there are followers who wish to join your cult (for whatever reason) and ask if you would like to let them join.

Once you’ve accepted their quest, you should receive additional subscribers right away! You can even get multiple subscribers at once with this method! This is by far one of the easiest methods of getting followers in Cult of the Lamb, although it’s not always reliable as you can never guarantee when another follower-related quest will come up.

Go on a crusade in Darkwood

Darkwood is the first dungeon you are allowed to Crusade in Cult of the Lamb. For this reason, it’s one of the best places to get more subscribers in the early game! You’ll have to complete this dungeon anyway if you want to beat the game, so you might as well pick up a few followers while you’re at it.

You can find followers everywhere in this dungeon, you don’t even have to search! Since this dungeon is available so early in the game, it’s also one of the best places to create new follower forms. If you’re just early in the game and only have a few Follower forms to choose from, try doing a few quick Crusades through the Darkwood Dungeon to expand your collection!

Buy them at Helob

Buying followers from Helob is one of the best ways to get followers in Cult of the Lamb, especially if you have some extra cash to spare. Helob will offer you many different types of subscribers at varying prices, but they are generally not too expensive (fortunately). It will even give you older subscribers for free!

You can grow your herd exponentially with almost no effort as long as you keep buying from Helob; he has an unlimited amount of creatures (don’t ask where he gets them from) and is always ready to part with them! This method is also another great way to collect more subscriber forms because the subscribers it sells to you are completely random.

Go on a crusade in Anura

Anura is another early game dungeon that needs to be beaten to complete the game, so you might as well pick up as many followers as you can while you’re at it.

Anura even has dungeon-specific subscriber forms that you absolutely don’t want to miss, not to mention that you can also get loads of menticidal mushrooms and spores from this dungeon! This dungeon is similar to the Darkwood dungeon in that it is relatively easy to beat; you won’t have to worry about losing any of the valuable followers you’ve collected by dying in the middle of your crusade.

Defeat Heretics (Bosses) in Crusades

Defeating bosses and taking down heretics is what Cult of the Lamb is all about, so it only makes sense that you’ll receive extra rewards for doing so. You are rewarded with many resources and blueprints at the end of a crusade, but you also have the potential to be rewarded with incredibly strong followers! Once you reach the end of an area after a crusade, you will have to deal with the resident heretic of that area.

Defeating them can be difficult, but nowhere near as difficult as defeating one of the bishops or the final boss. Once you defeat one of the Heretics in an area, they will shrink into a smaller (and cuter!) version of themselves and become scared enough to want to join your cult! You can get up to four Heretical Followers in a single dungeon, so this method is definitely a cost effective way to collect Followers in Cult of the Lamb.

Go on a crusade in Anchordeep

The Anchordeep is a fun ocean-themed dungeon in Cult of the Lamb. This dungeon isn’t too difficult, but it’s definitely not as easy as Darkwood Dungeon. That being said, however, this dungeon is still teeming with followers that are yours! If you’re ready to dive into this aquatic hellish landscape, you’ll be rich with followers in no time!

This dungeon is also the only dungeon where crystal shards can be found, which can be used for quests and to build great decorations for your base! Each dungeon has its exclusive resources, but this dungeon’s resource (crystal shards) is worth challenging monsters, even if you don’t need the followers.

Free sacrifices and recruitment

While crusading the dark depths of a dungeon, you may come across a sacrificial ritual or two. Rather than miss out on these opportunities, you should definitely take advantage of them (free subscribers)! Interrupting these rituals and fighting the cultists can be a hassle, but it’s definitely worth getting a free adept.

You can find multiple Sacrificial Rituals while exploring dungeons, which means you can get multiple new followers at once! All you have to do is continue the crusades; these sacrificial rituals are far from uncommon, they practically fall into your lap on their own! This is one of the best ways to get new followers in Cult of the Lamb, simply because there isn’t a whole lot of extra work to do to complete it.

Go on a crusade to the cradle of silk

The Silk Cradle is one of the most dangerous dungeons Cult of the Lamb has to offer, but that only means the hard-earned rewards will be that much sweeter. The Silk Cradle dungeon is particularly dense with followers (for whatever reason), so it’s a good dungeon to get as many followers as possible!

Helob likes to walk around there with his living goods, and you can also find several sacrificial rituals in this dungeon. Additionally, there are always heretics to find and defeat in these dungeons, and the Silk Cradle dungeon is no exception. As with other dungeons, you can get up to four Heretical Adepts in Silk Cradle, which only maximizes your Adept-gathering potential for this dungeon!

Find and recruit followers in dungeons

Adepts can be found all over the dungeons, whether sold in shops or sacrificed to a dying god. However, adepts can be found in dungeons without all that ritualistic and bartering mess. You will be able to come across rooms in dungeons where dissenters can be found ranting; you can choose to listen to them and agree with them, or listen to them and disagree with them.

If you choose to listen and agree, they will be ready to join your cult. These followers may be more likely to dissent in the future, but that’s a problem for another day! What matters is that you have another follower under your belt! If you disagree with them, however, they will go into attack mode and you will have to kill them. There are other ways similar to this to collect followers, but this is usually the most common scenario.

Crusade to The Gateway (and recruit the one who waits!)

This method won’t get you the most followers, but it will get you one. very powerful disciple. Once you defeat all four bishops, you can open the final dungeon door to The Gateway. The gateway isn’t really a dungeon, it’s the diabolical, life-sucking home of He Who Waits. You won’t encounter any coins or card-dealing birds in The Gateway, just the Avenging God Who Was Once Righteous and his two remaining followers. You can either kneel before him and lay down your life, and the lives of all your followers, to appease him, or you can refuse to kneel. Refusing to kneel will start the game’s final battle, with the final boss being the one waiting.

> How many followers can you have in Cult of the Lamb?

It’s an uphill battle, but once you defeat him he doesn’t die (unlike the four bishops). Instead of dying, He Who Waits will shrink into a smaller version of himself, and you can recruit him into your cult by choosing to spare him. He who waits has the potential to become a very a powerful adept, especially since he has the Immortal trait, which means he will never age or die! This method is difficult and requires you to literally beat the entire game, but you get an immortal god as a disciple if you complete it!
