I feel like people slept on Ghostrunner when it launched last year. Of course, it was not particularly long or original in its aesthetics but its movement was rad. There is something to be said about playing as a generic cyberpunk ninja who runs on walls, blasts air, and slows down time to pull off the most stylish kills. Hopefully developer One More Level and publisher 505 Games will pick up on this concept and go with it for the sequel that was confirmed last night. Which is great news, as I’m always on the lookout for some tricky platformer platforms these days.

Creative Ghostrunner 2 Set to Launch on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, with no confirmed release date at this time. Given that the last game was released in October 2020, I imagine it will take a few years before it hits your hands. As pointed out by Kotaku, how the writers plan to turn Ghostrunner into a sequel will be more than a little interesting. Considering that the original game ended with your character, being the last Ghostrunner in the world, dying a cruel death, it has to be assumed that there will be some sort of plot convenience that will save him. I think his name was Jack? I don’t remember the story being so⦠nothing.

If you are a bit interested in Ghostrunner, may I suggest you pick it up and play it? Imagine a less frantic first-person Miami Hotline with even more neon lights. The first game is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S upgrades drop at some point this year.
