Video games for children 2 to 4 years old and over
Miitopia

The key characteristics of an RPG game (inventory management, collecting experience and skills, interesting stories, etc.) are not easy for one. really young child to grab. It’s just an unfortunate circumstance of the sort.
Miitopia is the exception that proves the rule! In it, the player is guided through all the simplified elements of an RPG – the big bad, classes with various roles within the group, combat, etc. Plus, you use your own Miis in the game, so a whole family can play in the story as a hero or a villain! An adult might need to help them out a bit, but this game is quite simplistic and they will no doubt enjoy getting to know the genre better!

Bug Fables is a puzzle RPG which is the spiritual successor to the Paper Mario games. There are three bug protagonists to control, a beetle, a bee and a moth, like you venture across the world and search for a very special sapling that gives immortality.
We at TheGamer really enjoyed it, and we think the kid in your life will be too! Don’t worry – the confusing, light-hearted combat isn’t hard enough to crush them forever (although a good puzzle is useful for any developing brain, of course).
Pokémon Sword and Shield

Pokemon Sword and Shield is part of the eighth generation of Pokemon video games. This beloved franchise is familiar to generations of gamers, so it’s a great way to introduce the child in your life to the RPG genre! If you don’t know, Pokemon games are all about catching animals in the wild, called Pokemon, and fighting them against other people’s Pokemon.
The Pokemon company takes great care that these games remain suitable for children. Pokémon don’t die if you lose in a battle, they simply “pass out” (fall unconscious). There is also no blood, gore or obscene content. You can safely put these games in the hands of any child!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Although there is a “2” in the title of Dragon Quest Builders 2, your child does not need to have played the first game to enjoy this one. It’s completely autonomous! The game asks the player to become the “Master Builder” by creating new buildings for your friends to inhabit in the open world.
If you are familiar with Minecraft, the gameplay is a bit like this, in which the player decorates with blocks. Make no mistake, however, there is more than enough to set this game apart from Minecraft. Dragon Quest Builders 2 skillfully mixes story, combat, building, and crafting in this one game!
Child of Light

Child of Light is a platform RPG from Ubisoft Montreal and Milan! It’s a mind-blowing game that was purposely written like a fairy tale, with poetic prose and characters designed to resemble watercolors.
It takes place in Lemuria – a theorized lost city that has long been debunked but is now often used in fiction – where the main character, Aurora, is to bring back the moon, sun, and stars. It received overwhelmingly positive reviews and rave reviews after its release, so you have a pretty safe choice on your hands.

Valley of stars

Stardew Valley is as much an RPG as it is a farming simulator. You will play a young person whose grandfather left him his farm to take care of him. When you arrive at Stardew Valley, you are introduced to all of the locals who live in the nearby town and the surrounding lands.
Players spend their time in Stardew Valley Raise animals and seasonal crops, explore nearby caves and get to know the locals! It is possible to have sex with NPCs, but it is all very tame.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Whether The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a true RPG is hotly debated among gamers (especially Zelda fans). At the very least, they all agree that this is the most RPG Zelda game ever made. In it, the player controls Link, a young man who must help the princess, Zelda, who resists a great evil on her own with her magic.
It’s a huge open world game that the kid in your life is sure to enjoy. You are more than welcome – hell even encouraged – to ignore the main story and simply travel the world chopping down or climbing trees, cooking meals with the things you stuff and talking to townspeople. that you find. There is always something to do, and any player could easily devote hundreds of hours to it!
