The Annual Higuri Regalia Largesse Gift Extravaganza

What I love most about Final Fantasy 14 is its community spirit. Complete strangers help each other and celebrate each other, and it is this unity that I admire the most. What I particularly love is seeing players give back to the community, which is why I tracked down the player behind the Higuri Regalia Largesse Annual Giveaway Extravaganza.

Thiji, the creator of the Higuri Regalia on Balmung, is one of those fiery gamers who enjoys sharing his in-game wealth with others every year through the Giveaway Extravaganza. The event spans five to seven days, takes place in different locations for a few hours at a time, and offers a variety of freebies each day. Players can see the full list of what’s on offer and choose to buy whatever they want, as long as it’s still in stock, of course.

“With the amount of wealth and resources I have accumulated over the years, I find myself with little else to do with it,” says Thiji. “So I thought of the perfect idea: to create a massive annual event that spans an entire week where the entire Crystal data center can get things it would otherwise be unable to get without burning a hole in his wallet.”

Thiji also makes sure the giveaway has a grand finale, with a special raffle on the final day that offers the rarest and most expensive prizes. To enter the raffle, simply speak to a member of the Regalia to be added to a follow-up of potential winners. On special occasions, the Higuri Regalia partners with other venues to make the final day of the event even better, with past collaborations with Abbiocco’s Fine Dining, The Bandee Pakshee and White Wings Wing Shack.

The Higuri Regalia is steeped in role-playing lore, beginning as a gemstone crafting and textile business in A Realm Reborn before enjoying the boom in the mythril trade after calamity struck Eorzea. At this point, Thiji and Insignia became involved in the fashion industry.

Thiji designs a range of stunning outfits, as seen in her ever-growing Power in Beauty fashion catalog. All players who wish to purchase them will receive an art commission from their warrior of light in the outfit.

“All outfits are designed by myself, but I’ve recently allowed other people to bring their own visions to life through collaborations,” says Thiji. “From a character perspective, anyone interested in immortalizing themselves in fashion is welcome to negotiate with Thiji to have them published in the Power in Beauty catalog, and they would receive an 80/20 split of royalties.”

As the Higuri Regalia focuses on role-playing, the event takes place primarily in-character, but players who do not wish to role-play are still welcome to participate. Thiji is funding the entire event out of his own pocket, while using leftover resources from previous events.

“Despite how many of us in the Regalia I may have given the impression, I put on this event all by myself and used my alternate personas to spread the good word of the Regalia,” I said. Thiji said. “To put it into perspective: This whole effort was invented and led by myself, and other like-minded people have come to my aid over the past five years to help me make things more easy for me. Basically, I’ve become kind of a one-man army since I’ve been playing this game.”

Thiji also has other exciting plans for the future, as the Higuri Regalia is teaming up with Abbiocco’s Fine Dining for the Sugar, Spice, and Everything Ice event to coincide with the launch of Thiji’s eighth clothing line. This event will include a fashion show where models strut their stuff while Thiji describes his new clothing line. There will also be a fashion contest where participants can showcase their best winter-inspired costumes, including suitably icy character cosplay, in hopes of winning a range of prizes. As a bonus, whether they win or not, each entrant will receive a glamorous weapon of their choice as a consolation prize.

Thiji is a Twitch partner and often streams Final Fantasy 14 and other RPGs, so you can keep up to date with him and Higuri Regalia via his Twitch channel.
