During part two of the 68th Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer live stream, Square Enix provided more information on the upcoming Ishgard slot and more.
We learn from producer and director Naoki Yoshida that every Free Enterprise player can enter the lottery for land at the opening if they try to buy it for their Free Enterprise. Large active free enterprises will have an advantage.
When you enter the lottery, you will have to pay the full price of the plot. If you don’t win, you’ll get your money back, but if you win and forfeit, you’ll lose the money.
There will be four ways to acquire a home: CF Lottery, Individual Lottery, First Come, First Served for CF, and First Come, First Served for Individuals.
One of four buying systems will be applied to each living quarter. This can be changed with each patch as needed.
That being said, in version 6.1 the plan is to have all neighborhoods use the lottery system. Square Enix may consider making a few neighborhoods first in, first out if there is high demand for it.
Another relevant piece of news is that free trials will finally resume on February 22. They have been suspended due to server congestion.
We also learned that the team is making progress in implementing female Hrothgar. Two designs were chosen from a variety of concepts and now the team is thinking about how they would look in-game and what adjustments would be needed for translation in the character creator. It will take “time”, but the race is definitely coming.
That being said, Yoshida-san confirmed that this will be the last race to be added to the game.
On top of that, minions for Zenos, Hades, and Emet Selch could come in the future now that their role in the story is over.
Speaking of the Garlean Empire, now that they’re no longer depicted as enemies in the story, it’s possible to get new Imperial-themed gear and outfits.
The uniform of Sharlayan forum members is also already planned for implementation.
We’re also getting an Orchestrion roll with the music played on the radio in Garlemald in Patch 6.1. It will be the warped version first (as decided by composer Masayoshi Soken), and Yoshida-san didn’t say whether the non-warped version will also come in the future or not.
The glamor system will definitely be extended as soon as it can be integrated into the program from version 6.1.
The next Letter from the Producer live will be on March 4, showcasing various aspects of Update 6.1. A second program will serve as part 2 on the same subject thereafter.

Recently, the game has been so successful that Square Enix had to suspend sales in order to unclog the servers. Fortunately, they have recently resumed following the improvement of the server situation.
