Final Fantasy 16 drops to second on Famitsu’s most wanted charts as Shin Megami Tensei 5 claims first place

For several consecutive weeks at this point, Famitsu’s rankings for the most anticipated upcoming games – as decided by their readers’ votes – Final Fantasy 16 was in pole position, while Shin Megami Tensei 5 hovered in second place and dragged through narrow margins.

In the latest weekly rankings, Atlus’ RPG has climbed to number one, pushing Final Fantasy 16 up to second place. With Shin Megami Tensei 5’s outlet around the corner, it’s no surprise to see this happen, and it wouldn’t be to see it happen again until the game launches.

The new entry in this week’s top 10 is Gran Turismo 7, which climbed to No. 9, against No. 11 the previous week. Meanwhile, the PS4 version of Super Robot Wars 30 is in eighth place, with the Switch version of the game coming in at # 7. Beyond that, a number of upcoming Switch exclusives like Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3, and Shiny Diamond Pokémon and Shiny pearl appear on the charts again, as they so often do.
