Neon Giant’s co-op cyberpunk RPG, The Ascent, will launch on PlayStation consoles later this year.
the ascent is the first release from indie game studio Neon Giant, a two-controller Action-RPG shooter that explores the dystopian world of Veles. It has a vibrant aesthetic and design that appealed to some gamers, with neon lights contrasting the grimy futuristic location. The game was released last year, but not without some issues at launch. Most of them revolved around the ascentof the Xbox Game Pass version, but despite these technical hurdles, some players enjoyed what was available in the game.
the ascent was signed to be a timed exclusive for the Xbox Series X, although it also launched alongside a PC version last year. The game coming to Xbox Game Pass has also contributed to its popularity as the service is constantly adding new games to the service. With AAA tubes like Scarlet Nexus with indie titles like this game being added to Game Pass on a regular basis, it has become a popular service for players to participate in. With the game’s timed exclusivity nearing its end, developer Neon Giant has announced that it will be coming to Sony’s consoles very soon. .
While an ESRB rating teased the ascent will be coming to PlayStation, an official trailer has been released on YouTube which officially announced that the game will be coming to both Sony consoles. The game’s developers, including Neon Giant studio head Arcade Berg, said they were “excited” to bring the former exclusive to these consoles. “We started making The Ascent because we love making games,” Berg said. “We want to share what we’ve done with as many players as possible in the hope that people have as much fun playing it as we had playing it.”
Players who pre-order the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game will receive an exclusive weapon for the ascent, known as RPEG 33. It is an energy-type rocket launcher with a unique laser sight. The laser sight will be colored blue, to match PlayStation’s blue color scheme, which is also reflected in the game’s launch trailer.
Neon Giant also announced a variety of new DLCs and updates that will be coming to the ascentthe PC version. One of them is the Cyber Warrior DLC Pack, which will give them two new weapons, new tactics, weapon skins, as well as armor. More importantly however, the ascent will receive a New Game Plus mode for free, which promises to be a much more brutal challenge compared to the base game.
the ascent is now available for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The PS4 and PS5 versions will launch on March 24, 2022.
