Cyberpunk 2077 will return to Sony’s PlayStation Store on June 21, more than 180 days after the PlayStation 4 version of the game was withdrawn from sale by Sony amid complaints about the game’s performance. The announcement was made in regulatory disclosure by CD Projekt, the parent company of CD Projekt Red. Polygon has contacted Sony for confirmation.
The return of Cyberpunk 2077 at Sony’s digital store comes after developer CD Projekt Red released several major fixes and fixes for the game. Recent updates have targeted hundreds of bugs and improved the performance of the next-gen console versions of the game.
In December, Sony removed CD Projekt Red’s open-world adventure game from PlayStation Store. Sony Interactive Entertainment said in a statement at the time that it “strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction” and subsequently withdrew the PS4 game (which is also playable on PlayStation 5) from its digital store. SIE is committed to providing full refunds to customers who purchased the digital version of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store.
Sony’s action at the time followed an apology from the executives of parent company CD Projekt Red, in which CD Projekt management admitted “not showing the game on the next-gen base consoles before its release. creation and, therefore, not allowing you to make a more informed decision regarding your purchase.
“We should have paid more attention to making it work better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” reads a note signed by Marcin IwiÅski, founder of parent company CD Projekt, and its board of directors. . CD Projekt asked customers to request refunds from retailers, but Sony did not have a refund policy in place for digital purchases.
In January, IwiÅski issued a more detailed apology and CD Projekt presented a long-term plan to fix Cyberpunk 2077, starting with a pair of major fixes designed to fix performance, gameplay bugs, and numerous crashes.
Update: In a statement to Polygon, Sony confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will return to PlayStation Store. He also cautioned users against playing on a base PlayStation 4 until CD Projekt Red fixes other issues.
âThe SIE can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-listed on PlayStation Store starting June 21, 2021, âa Sony spokesperson said in an email. âUsers will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition as CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms.
