Cyberpunk 2077: Where to find Mantis Blades

Obtaining cyberware has changed since Cyberpunk 2077 launched. This is where players looking to build a melee V can find the powerful Mantis Blades.

Cyberpunk 2077 went through a lot of changes ahead of its 2020 release, but one thing that remained was the Mantis Blades. The original 2013 trailer featured a storyline that was not included in the end game where a woman used Mantis Blades to tear apart civilians. It’s one of the most unique weapons in the game, and they look just as cool in practice as they do in the trailer.

Mantis Blades are powerful and swift, and they offer some interesting building opportunities that can make V as deadly as the people they’re trying to kill. Players will need to find and install them first. However, alongside the various bug fixes and small additions like a new car and clothing Cyberpunk 2077 has received since its stormy launch, CD Projekt Red has also changed the way cyberware like Mantis Blades is found in the game.

What are the Mantis Blades from Cyberpunk 2077?

Mantis Blades are not easily acquired in Cyberpunk 2077, and since they are cyberware, these weapons require the installation of a Ripperdoc to be actually used. Once installed, they become V’s melee attack in two flavors: heavy and light. Unlike melee weapons, the Mantis Blades’ light attack can be used over and over again without depleting stamina. While the heavy attack still uses stamina, it also allows V to jump towards an enemy to deal significant damage to them. If that’s enough to take out an enemy, V will even go in for a knockout. There are also some fantastic perks that can turn V’s arms into deli slicers and make them a force to be reckoned with.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ripperdoc Station

The first step in unlocking the incredible potential of the Mantis Blades is to find the blades themselves. There were places where the legendary Mantis Blades could be found, but as of patch 1.3 most of the cyberware has been taken off the streets. Now these weapons can only be purchased from Ripperdocs around Night City. The more quality they are, the more expensive they will be.

Mantis Blades come in three rarities: Rare, Epic, and Legendary. This means that players will need to accumulate some Street Cred and some cash to access it. The legendary Mantis Blades are particularly expensive at $ 100,000 and require 45 Street Cred to access them. These can be purchased at the Ripperdoc in the city center. While pricey, the Mantis Blades are absolutely worth the time and effort to get them, especially for those who prefer melee combat and want their V to be a badass slasher that can slice through enemies like s’ they were nothing.
