“Cyberpunk 2077” faces another controversial situation!

Another day and yet another controversial storyline for CD Projekt RED Cyberpunk 2077. But this time it’s about China!

Seems like there’s no end of problems for Cyberpunk 2077, come what may. The game was revealed to be using the “Winnie the Pooh” label to censor its files in China.

“Cyberpunk 2077” and the “Winnie the Pooh” Controversy

CD Projekt RED appears to be in trouble, once again, thanks to the unfortunate leaks that have occurred in recent times. It can also be due to stolen source codes, related to CP77.

Anyway, coming on the current controversial situation for Cyberpunk 2077.

Well, according to the leaked source codes, new information has been released to the public. The developer used a tag called “Winnie the Pooh” to flag content that required censorship for the title to launch in China.

This could prove to be very problematic for CD Projekt RED. Even more than the recently leaked assembly video including the many internal bugs in Cyberpunk 2077.

“Winnie the Pooh” is not liked at all in China, especially by President Xi Jinping. Its use is considered a serious offense.

Now, CDPR’s use of the label to refer to China might not be favorable to the country’s government. And given the Polish developer’s current unhappy phase, it could happen soon, if it gets noticed.

It looks like there will be plenty of other unknown details soon due to the leaked source codes.

What is the current status of CDPR’s open world title?

Well, leaving the controversial aspect aside, after six months the game looks pretty good now. Yes, it hasn’t been fully optimized yet, but it’s on the right track.

Thanks to major updates and fixes, CP77 has become somewhat playable on previous generation consoles.

However, it’s been a while since CD Projekt RED released a major update for open world gaming.

While he has many plans for the Night City saga going forward, there are plenty of DLCs expected to arrive in the coming months. Some of these will also include the Panama DLC.

In addition, passionate Cyberpunk 2077 fans are also hoping for a dedicated DLC for Judy and Jackie, as both are some of the most popular characters in the game’s campaign.

The sci-fi and dystopian title is out now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia. Its PS5 and Xbox Series X | S ports are still in development.

What do you think of this CD Projekt RED game? Do you think it can still become a masterpiece despite the inevitable problems?
