Diablo Immortal had a decent amount of content in the closed beta test, but it didn’t include everything, and today players got their first look at a new area coming with launch. It’s called The Realm Of Damnation and it’s where players will go after fighting their way through the frozen tundra.
In a blog post today, Blizzard reveals a bit of what players can expect when they finally reach this new zone. Plagued by the game’s most insidious dangers, The Realm Of Damnation is Skarn’s personal lair. A piece of hell he carved out for himself amidst the chaos at the end of Diablo II: Lord Of Destruction.
While Blizzard has no new footage or screenshots to share, it is providing audio samples to prepare players for the adventure. Stick around for a while and listen to a handful of clips that set the stage. Which include samples of Skarn, voiced by Steve Blum. As well as samples of a potential new ally Verathiel, the Warchief Angel voiced by Kimberly Brooks.
Diablo Immortal’s new zone comes with a new dungeon
In terms of gameplay content, The Realm Of Damnation will have to offer players. Blizzard says it features the same types of wilderness gameplay available in other areas. Including quests, events, bounties, hideouts and of course lots of loot. But before players can reach the realm of damnation, they will have to brave the forests of misery. Where Verathiel has established a base camp to gain a foothold in Skarn’s domain.
A new activity called Demon Gates tasks players with hunting down powerful enemies. These are random encounters that appear multiple times a day on a timer. A party of three can hunt down powerful demons that attempt to enter these gates for significant rewards. And that players can earn bonus rewards from three demon gates per day. It’s not immediately clear if a group of three is needed. Or if players will be able to solo these encounters.
There is also a new dungeon. Pits of Anguish. Where players will have to battle blade-wielding demonic cultivators and tackle a “screen-filled boss fight with the most blood volume in the entire game.”
Diablo Immortal is set to launch on June 2 for Android and iOS. As well as on PC via the battle.net launcher.
