Developer Hitman IO Interactive has announced two new hires, including a former developer CD Projekt RED.
Developer IO Interactive has been on a bit of a hot streak, as the Hitman series has seen greater success with each release, along with recent news from the studio working on a James Bond game. On the flip side, developer CD Projekt RED has been struggling lately, with the rocky launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and allegations of harassment within the company painting the studio in a bad light. IO Interactive has announced two major hires, including Andrzej Zawadzki, who worked as the design manager on Cyberpunk 2077.
IO Interactive announced the new hires with a message to its official site. Not long ago, Andrzej Zawadzki announced that he would be leaving CD Projekt RED after eight years in the business. We now know that he will be joining the IOI team. Additionally, the announcement states that Zawadzki will serve as lead gameplay designer for the “studio’s new unannounced IP address.” This would indicate that the project is not the James Bond game already announced. Could this be the supposed fantasy RPG in development for the Xbox?

IO Interactive also announced that Rasmus Højengaard will join the team as the studio’s design director. This is not Højengaard’s first experience with IOI, as he was Game Director on Hitman: Blood Money in 2006 before leaving the studio and working at DICE. Højengaard will participate in all upcoming IO Interactive projects.
The two new hires are apparently another big win for IO Interactive. Last month, the studio announced that Hitman 3 has sold 300% better than Hitman 2 and that a new office will open in Barcelona to support the development of its upcoming projects.
