A show for the Sablees sore! Pokémon partners with eyewear brand JINS for more monstrous designs

With 24 models to choose from, including all Eeveelutions, there’s no better time to buy new glasses!

The two originals Pokemon The 1996 Game Boy games weren’t just extremely fun and enjoyable role-playing games for children. They served as the very first wingbeat for a Butterfree that over time would have rushed into the long-lasting winds of epic Pokemon fanaticism. TV anime, movies, coloring books, trading cards, fashion, cute plush toys, and even cosmetics would follow over the next few decades. If you want to live a Pokemon life, the world is your cloister.

Around the same time last year, the eyewear company JINS has done its part to aid in the progressive Pokémonification of all aspects of daily life by delivering very stylish shows inspired by some of the franchise’s most famous monsters. With custom frames and vibrant colors, they really took anime-themed eyewear to a new level. And now they’re back in 2021 for the second round!

JINS takes the concept of choosing a Pokémon partner before you go on a trip and combines it with choosing your new pair of glasses. In a JINS store, however, you are not limited to the three regional entrances. This second set of designs will bring back some favorites, like Pikachu, Eevee, and Snorlax, but will also include 15 new, previously redesigned mon designs to hang on your face.

Designs range from the adorable Pikachu to the stylish Umbreon to the adventurer Dragapult.

Just like the first collaboration, JINS divides the glasses they offer into three series. The first is the Iconic series, which features classic creatures taking powerful positions and ready to win battles. The motif behind this line is “I’m stronger because I have you with me,” complimenting Pokémon’s themes of friendship and loyalty.

And here are Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise.

The types pictured above are the adult models, which retail for 13,200 yen each (US $ 115.62), but you can also purchase children’s versions of some models for 8,800 yen!

Buy a pair from this series and you will get at home a super classy pouch to keep them, as well as a lens cleaning cloth printed with a unique design.

Then comes the Trendy series. This Eeveelution-focused style features Eevee and each of its evolutions, with trendy versions of each color scheme, silhouette, and PokéDex number. These pairs are even set with appropriately colored Swarovski crystals to ensure absolute elegance from all angles. Unfortunately, this line is for adults only.

Here are the designs of Eevee, Vaporeon and Jolteon.

Flareon, Espeon, and Umbreon take turns following.

▼ Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon complete the set!

Each of the trend pairs costs 13,200 yen. The free soft case that comes with your pair of glasses is designed to look like an Eevee, and the soft cloth lens cleaner has a beautiful mirror with the whole Eevee family around it. This line was designed with the philosophy that you can become the type of person you want to be, which is a message that fits Eevee and her evolved forms perfectly.

The last is the Casual series. The three Pokémon featured in this row are beefy fighters with long evolutionary lines, so the concept here is to emphasize taking things slow and getting strong at your own pace. Adult editions cost 8,800 yen.

▼ Dragapult, Tyranitar and Dragonite adorn the Casual line.

Fortunately, this one is also available in children’s sizes. You might be just a little Dreepy, Larvitar, or Dragonite, but you can carry your future aspirations with pride! The price of children’s editions 5,500 yen, which makes them the most affordable of all the collaboration.

▼ Look how cute the lens case and accompanying lens cloth are!

With Pokémon Legends: Arceus and its lush ancient landscapes just around the corner, there’s no better time to make sure your vision is sharp and in perfect style. These goggles will be available in eyewear stores across Japan, as well as on the official JINS website, starting January 1, 2022. Why not take a look at JINS ‘collaboration with Sailor Moon and Japan Rail East while you’re waiting ?
